It's All in the Brand Apparently

Some businesses are built from nothing but a dream and a lot of hard work. That is how Belisi Fashions came into being.

The founder was a bartender who wanted to live the life of his well to do clients. He emulated his high-end clientele and invested money in a tie collection, never wearing the same one twice. It was this that gave him the idea that accessories are the finishing touch in you presenting a polished picture to the world. The Belisi brand became synonymous with beauty and giving back to the community. It speaks of good living, great style, quality accessories, including scarves and handbags the brand speaks of luxury with meaning.

Writing Web Content

Writing web content can sometimes be tedious. If you have to write twenty articles for one product you can easily run out of things to say. This kind of writing can get to be a dreadful bore. You want to get it out of the way and get on with something more interesting - otherwise you are likely to fall asleep over your keyboard.

Freelance Writing

Freelance writing can be fun but it is not always easy. When you have more than one client you are just as likely to find that you have three or four deadlines all on the same day. You can't afford to miss one or you will have one very unhappy client and if the client is unhappy they may not give you any more work.

Making a success of freelancing means keeping your clients happy and working hard. Make no mistake writers write and writing is work, it can be hard work, but if you like to write then you can have fun freelancing.

Joining the Dots

Christmas is the time of year when people go dotty over flowers. When you don't know what to give flowers comes up trumps every time. I am thinking of joining the dotty brigade.

Dot flowers for example has some fabulous flower gift ideas you can even have same day delivery. How about some field fresh flowers direct from the growers and delivered all over the United States. There are bound to be some flower ideas to suit most people on your list. You can buy gift baskets full of cookies and savory snacks, there is something for everyone. If you really don't know what to give then flower gifts are always well received. You can choose the colors and the kinds of flowers to send. Bring a breath of spring to Christmas by sending flowers.

Winter Flowers

It's quite odd in the UK this December. The weather has been much milder than usual and this means that we still have things flowering in the garden. The nastercions are like tryphids-with the foliage all over the garden path. There are still pansies blooming and a patch of daisies looks ever so sprightly for this time of year. I am not complaining, just surprised

Writing a Novel

Well I started nanowrimo but I only ended up with 23,000 words. It was a case of work getting in the way of work or writing getting in the way of writing. I will do it again next year but will try to make more free time he he. What is free time? I will not neglect my novel however, I will finish writing it and hope to do the editing through nano in March. Happy writing

There's Gold in Them Thar Hills

Time was in the US that people dug for gold. Now they buy it as an investment. There are plenty of opportunities and out there and companies offering gold and silver for sale. Monex Deposit Company (MDC) are worth taking a look at. If you purchase your precious metals and coins from them you can have your investment delivered to your door or placed in safe storage. Silver bullion is at its peak and gold is available in coin or ingot form.

Just think about owning some American Eagle gold coins. You could do worse than go to America's best dealer in US gold coins to make your investment. Who knows where it will lead, and if you bury them to keep them safe then people will still be able to say that there's gold in them thar hills.

Get Connected

I've just finished reading the Cosmic Ordering Service. It's not bad and one of the things I've found really good about is the advice on connecting with yourself. Sometimes it is so easy to get caught up in life that we miss who we are and what we really want. What the book points out is that unless we take that time to get connected with our deepest selves then we won't truly connect with anyone else. It's certainly something worth thinking about. I've only been working with it for 3 days but I've already overcome a couple of blocks so the book is well worth reading.

Nanowrimo Blues

It's the final week and I only have around 17,000 words with no sleep and petrol driven arms I might just get to 50,000. I think that the problem is that I worry I won't write enough on each bit but then when I start a chapter it seems to flow. But then that's maybe just an excuse and perhaps I should be working on that rather than waffling on her about my Nanowrimo blues.

Is There a Doctor in the House?

Online universities are a growth industry but they are not all properly accredited. This is where Capella University is different, founded in 1993 Capella University is a fully accredited online university which offers graduate programs in different areas including human services, business and education.

Capella offers specialisation in 76 different areas. The University has 16,000 students from fifty states and 63 countries. So if you have an area that you are really interested in and already have a masters how about trying a distance learning phd?

Capella University has plenty of experts who can supervise your studies online. You never know there may come a day when someone shouts is there a doctor in the house and you won't be able to stop yourself from saying "here I am".

You're Never Too Old To Learn

When we're young we really do think that we know it all. As the saying goes hire a teenager while they still know everything. What I have found as I get older is that you are never too old to learn. You can learn something new every day. However small it is it gets added to your store of knowledge.

It's a funny thing knowledge, because the more you learn the more you realise how little you know. This goes on I think throughout life and we learn our lessons from the most unexpected people and places. I wonder whether I'll be doing it until the day I die and whether it's true that you're never too old to learn.

The Write Time

There comes a time in every writer's life when you just know you can't put that job or that chapter off any longer. So what do you do, well you blog about it. At least you are writing, you're just not writing whatever it is you either don't want to write or are frightened that it won't be good enough. Well I got news for you (and for me in case you were wondering) if you don't get down to the job at the write time you never will see your name on publisher's lists.

Vacation Time

It's getting to that point in the year when a lot of people start to think of getting away for a Christmas break. Save yourself all that cooking and washing up and take and Orlando vacation. Where else in the world are you going to get fifty two theme parks and beaches only forty minutes drive away. It needn't be expensive either there are plenty of vacation homes in Orlando, many of them cheaper than most other places. There is huge convention centre, Disney is our biggest draw and the theme parks are being constantly updated. Guess what you golfers we have more top-rated golf courses within a forty minute drive of where you are than anywhere else. So if you haven't been down our way for a while why not come and check us out.

Don't You Sometimes Just Want to Get Away?

There are times when you think that you just want to get away. You get tired of the same old routine, the same faces, catching the same bus to the same office and coming back to the same house. However much you enjoy your life most of the time there are periods when it all gets too much. At least that's how I feel, don't you sometimes just want to get away?

Taking the Mickey

There is nothing like a good cartoon. Everybody enjoys Bugs Bunny and Tom and Jerry. Take Mickey Mouse that must be one of the best ideas ever to hit the big screen. It is so cleverly done and Mickey has fun with his friends and associates while everyone in the picture house has fun watching. Several generations will sit down together to watch a Disney cartoon, it's the one thing that seems to cross that gap with no problems.

What a Wonderful World

The best place to get tickets for Disney World and all Orlando theme parks dinner and other attractions is at Orlandofuntickets. When you are planning your trip to Orlando the thing that causes the most hassle is the endless hunt for different tickets. You can now get your Disney World Ticketsalong with other tickets for different attractions from Orlandofuntickets. You can get them at discount prices and save yourself the endless runnning around and queuing that usually happens when you are trying to get your tickets.

Walt Disney World has a lot to offer besides their four theme parks and two water parks. You can visit Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. Then you can go and eat your pre-booked dinner and see your pre-booked show with little or no effort on your part.

Life Gets Soapier Don't It

Soaps are everywhere these days. We used to have Coronation Street twice a week in the Uk and then we got East Enders and Emmerdale, twice a week. Now all of these programmes run four or five times a week. Some nights, you get too doses of Corrie with only half an hour in between. Life gets soapier, don't it.

Winter's Here Again

You always know when winter comes around. Not only does it get colder but you start getting besieged by adverts for Christmas. They seem to start earlier every year. It used to be that nobody other than the kids mentioned Christmas before the start of December. Now, it starts at the end of October. Who knows, in another fifty years it could be Christmas in June.

Egyptian Treasure

Egyptologists and archeologists have found plenty of evidence of the ways in which life was conducted in the ancient world. Probably the most famous of these was Howard Carter and his discovery of Tuten Kamen. When that tomb was discovered in the Valley of the Kings the amount of gold that was found was almost unimaginable.

So much gold was found in the tombs of the ancients that the Cairo Museum actually has a gold room where all the artefacts are made from gold. In today's world gold and silver still have enormous value. Through companies like MDC you can purchase gold and other precious metals. These will be delivered to you personally or you can arrange safe storage at a bank or depository. What the ancients knew, and what is still the case, is that buying gold is one of the best ways to preserve one's wealth and purchasing power. In the ancient world, and in the present, people have always been fascinated by gold and the power that it has to change lives. Egyptian treasure was much the same as today's treasure, the beauty of a gold bar. For over thirty years the Monex companies have been a leader in the field of American gold and precious metals investment. Gold bullion is a unique investment, from the times of Ancient Egypt to modern day America.

Business Must be Booming

I could be wrong but it seems to me that businesses who can afford to outsource almost all their publicity, their business plans and their technical needs, must be booming. Leaving aside the cost involved if someone is doing all that for you what are you going to be doing? Although some businesses work well by outsourcing almost everything.

We've got used to some forms of outsourcing. There's probably not a medium sized business around that doesn't use office temps at some time or another. Well now you can outsource a lot of your work over the internet. Internet Marketing San Diego will set you up a website, provide after sales services and even help manage other aspects of your business. They certainly seem to know what they are talking about so if you are looking for a decent website you know where to go.

Who Wants to Be a Billionaire?

I've been doing my usual late Friday evening thing and surfing the net. Not really looking for anything in particular, just hoping that I might come across something of interest. Then I happened on the George Lindemann Sr. Bio. For those of you who don't know he was one of the biggest names in contact lenses-then he went in for cell phones.

Married with three children George Lindemann certainly seems to have the Midas touch. After becoming a millionaire many times over he has now decided to turn his attention to gas, and yes you've got it he is now officially a billionaire. Don't some people have all the luck?

Get a Professional

Whenever you are faced with some major jobs in the home then it usually makes sense to at least get some advice from a professional. Most professionals will not charge too much for an initial consultation and some may give you a little advice and an estimate for free. In the same way it makes sense to consult a professional if you are thinking of buying a house, particularly if you are a first time buyer.

There are so many issues to consider when you are buying a home. People do do it without consulting a profesional but sometimes there can be problems - if there are it is much better to have a professional like the guys at Del Mar real estate who can advise you on the best way forward. Most real estate professionals are well worth the commission that you pay them; and a good one may be able to save you a lot of money.

Buying and Selling

There is plenty of advice nowadays for people buying or selling their houses. Mostly people sell for two main reasons, either the family have left home and they want to downsize, or the family is expanding and they need a bigger home. Sometimes of course people just want to take a step up the property ladder.

So you've read the advice. You've given your house kerb appeal and you've painted the living room and the bedrooms. The house is clutter free and everything in the garden is rosy. Although you've looked around there really isn't anything that quite meets the standard you want at a price that you can afford. If that is the case then you might consider a trip to San Diego. Real estate agents there have some excellent properties and you might find that La Jolla Homes is just what you are looking for. Then all you need to do is find a buyer willing to pay the right price for your current property.

The Price is Right

Everybody loves a bargain and now more people can indulge their passion for getting something they want at a bargain price. It used to be that people would visit discount shops. The market was always a good place to bag a bargain - although sometimes you could find that by the time you got it home it was broken, not such a bargain then. For a while garage, yard and car boot sales made their mark. Now the real die hard bargain hunters buy and sell their stuff on Ebay.

Buying and selling on ebay is becoming widespread and this is even more noticable now that there are websites offering tips for getting the best out of ebay; and for safe internet shopping. There are now people who approach buying and selling on ebay as though it were a business. There are other people out there who will help them by providing free auction templates. No doubt ebay fever will continue so long as the price is right.

Putting You in the Picture

Putting you in the picture can mean a number of things - painting your portrait, taking your photograph, or simply giving you some information. I thought you might want to know a little about art. Portraits are an art form, as are some photographs nowadays. People will now take household objects, dress them up a little, call them art and win huge prizes. It never ceases to amaze me.

The same people who laud such sculptures often see the tattoo as an inferior art form. Ok, not everyone likes to see tattoos on a man, and even less like to see them on women. It is however, becoming more fashionable for women to have tattoos. There are so many designs to choose from when you visit a tattoo parlour. Most tattooist will have pictures of tattoos on the walls and in books - so if you want a tattoo but you are not sure of what, these will give you some idea. It's simply another art form.

If You Don't Want to Wear an Irish

I know you can't put an Irish man on to go out in the morning. But if you had been born a cockney then there is a liklihood that you might have a use for an Irish jig. Well, you still can't wear that I hear you say. But you'd be wrong there, because Irish jig (Irish for short) is cockney rhyming slang for wig. So if you were acting on the stage or you were unfortunate enough to lose your hair then an Irish might come in very handy.

There are people however, who might be averse to wearing a wig, or an Irish. We all know the old jokes about middle aged men and their toupees, but in recent years there has been some concentration on female hair loss which is sometimes a result of stress. The increasing use of chemotherapy to treat cancer however, is also a reason why more women are losing their hair. All joking aside, with something like this, if a woman's hair does not grow back easily then such restoration is a great idea.

Get Your Revision Done

There is only one way to get on in the education mill - do your revision. It's worth it in the long run. If you do a little each night you'll soon have it cracked. Speaking of cracks some cracks to the nose can be really nasty. I've known cases where someone has banged their nose so hard that it is permanently out of shape. Now I suppose most men don't bother, I've got a wonky nose, so what. I'm still a handsome devil and the nose gives my looks a nice kind of twist.

Not everyone is so philosophical about their nose, they may have bumped it rather hard, or they may just not like the nose that they were born with. Less than a hundred years ago of course they'd probably have had to put up with it-short of wearing a false one. Nowadays life is a lot easier. Those people who are not happy with what is in the middle of their face can go and get themselves one of those fancy Los Angeles nose jobs.. So if you've got some dollars to spare and would like your nose remodeled then get yourself off to the City of the Angels-you never know, might pick up some wings while you're there.

Make or Break

Next month is definitely going to be a make it or break it one. Why you might ask? Well in a moment of madness I decided to take the bull by the horns and sign up for Nanowrimo - for those of you who don't know it's a novel writing contest. You pledge to write 50,000 words in thirty days, starting at midnight on November 1st and finishing at midnight on November 30th. Definitely make or break.

The problem with nanowrimo is that if I break it, it can't be remade. Even if I decide to do it next year I couldn't use the same material. There are some things that when broken they can be remade out of the original stuff. Noses for instance. If you break your nose you wouldn't expect someone to cut it off and start again would you? No of course you wouldn't. You'd go and pay a visit to a Los Angeles Rhinoplasty specialist and get it fixed. These guys know what they are about they can make your nose look as though nothing had ever happened to it-unlike a novel that didn't make the grade.

Ironing Out the Creases

I am not a person who is fond of ironing. In fact it is one of my pet hates give me a pile of creased shirts and I want to run a mile. However, I know that my husband and son have to get to work and they have to look the part; so I spend some time ironing out the creases. The same goes for my own work clothes.

I suppose the real problem arises when you want to iron out creases that are not so cheap and easy to get rid of. I'm not talking about clothes now but about faces, mostly faces anyway. Plastic surgeons seem to spend their time ironing out creases, figuratively speaking. What they really do is cut and pull and stitch. A lot more time consuming than standing at an ironing board. However, if you've looked into the mirror recently and feel that your face resembles a shirt that's been too long in the dryer, don't despair if you are in Beverly Hills cosmetic surgery is as easy as one two three. Almost as easy in fact as ironing out the creases in a shirt-well perhaps not quite that easy.

Sleighbells Ring, Are You Listening

It's nearly that time of year again. The time when people all over the world get together to celebrate the birth of Jesus. They also get to receive a lot of gifts thanks to old St Nick. The long ago European Bishop Nicholas is now a round faced, red suited gentleman who can be found in every department store in Britain, Europe and the US of A.

How did he cross the Atlantic you might ask? Well he or rather the tradition that is accredited to him was brought to the new world in the 16th Century.

So now you know why you are stuck not only with cooking a huge dinner but with buying bagloads of presents. If you find that you're stuck for ideas this year then look around. Christmas Gifts and Gift Baskets are an absolute boon to the overburdened and out of ideas housewife. So check them out then you may find you have the time to listen out for St Nick's Sleighbells come Christmas Eve.

Lifelong Learning

Most colleges and universities these days speak of learning as an ongoing process, of lifelong learning. Unfortunately not all institutions are properly accredited places of learning. They may offer BTECs and BAs but when you show their certificates to an employer your degree is worthless.

Learning on line has become a favourite thing to do for busy people. They want to get on in life and in order to do that they need a decent eductaion. Many offers of online degrees, however, are not worth the paper they're written on. Unlike Capella University.

Capella is a fully accredited online university, it is the North American Leader in online education. So if you want to increase your employment chances and you are looking at distance learning then check out Capella online.

Why Am I Always the Bridesmaid

I've been to plenty of weddings, always in a subordinate role you understand. I've never quite made it into the white dress with the bouquet, the tiara and the wedding march. At least that's how weddings were. Nowadays when I'm asked to play the role of bridesmaid it might be a quite different affair.

Just as you have theme pubs and restaurants, theme parties and holidays, nowadays the big thing is the themed wedding. And get this, the theme starts the day before! Bridesmaids not invited, because the night before is the time for the families to meet each other. Would you believe it you can now theme these dinners.

If you don't want too much formality then how about a barbecue. If you're going somewhere tropical for your honeymoon then why not give the families a sneak preview. Serve the dinner on surf boards along with the Pina Coladas. Whatever you choose the idea is to take the formality out of the rehearsal dinner so that everyone is bright and sparkling and ready for the wedding cameras.

The Guy Who Found the Lost Chord

Almost everyone has heard of Jimmy Durante and his famous song "The Guy Who Found the Lost Chord". He would sing it and play his own accompaniment. One of the reasons that Jimmy Durante sounded like he did was that he had a permanently broken nose. The cartilige was squashed and his breathing affected. It was this that gave his own distinct sound. Now you may want to sound like Jimmy Durante, who knows, but if you saw him when he was alive, you probably wouldn't want to look like him.

Well you may not be a famous singer but if you've got trouble with your nose then you could go and get it fixed. In Los Angeles nose surgeryis getting more and more popular. Both with people who don't like their noses, and for those who need corrective surgery. Dr Frankl is highly regarded for his work in this area and he practices at Lasky Clinic in Los Angeles.

This surgery specialises in rhinoplasty revisions, that is it corrects previous nose surgery and repairs collapsed noses. Dr Frankl is a stickler for detail who guarantees only the best results. He communicates well with his patients and will advise them on the best course of action for their particular problems.

Maybe If I Won the Lottery

Maybe like me you live in a three bedroomed house, or maybe you live in an apartment. Perhaps you've not been able to buy your own property and you're still renting, or worse still living with mum and dad.

We all hope that one day we will escape the daily grind and if we're lucky be able to live in a comfortable home. There are some communities where the property is drop dead gorgeous and the surrounding area and views are to die for. I've just been reading about some wonderful apartments, located north of Baltimore City. You can choose from one, two or three bedroom apartments built to such a high standard that they are virtually fire and sound proof.

Yes Baltimore Real Estatewould get my vote straight away if maybe I won the lottery and had plenty of cash to spare. The apartment complexes come complete with communal swimming pools, a laundry room, tennis and basketball courts, and even a gymnasium. Maintenance staff are around to keep it all peachy clean and now all you've got to do is win the lottery, well start doing it first.

Time for a Break

We know the summer is over when we can't go out without an umbrella or we decide that it's time to put away the sandals and pull out the boots. Sure you've had a holiday this year but haveing the kids off school then having to get back into some sort of routine is tiring. You really do think that it's time you had a break. What you really want to be able to do is get away from the bustle of the everyday.

How do you fancy sitting on a beach in California. Or taking to the sky in a hot air balloon? If you could take a vacation with a starting price as low as $79 wouldn't you want to know more?

If you like good accommodation, sun, sea and sand and a few extra goodies thrown in wouldn't you be interested. Whether it's a family holiday, a romantic week for two or just a weekend break you can't do better than finding out more about California Vacation Packages. Have a look today, you could save 70% off your next holiday.

Sun, Sea and Cafes

California is a beautiful state. People rave about the Golden Gate and about the City of the Angels. If you're thinking of moving to California, however, you might want to look around a bit more.

What do you want most in a place? A beautiful home? There are plenty to be had. A nearby university to satisfy your mind, sun, sea and sand so you can relax and enjoy life for a change? Or do you want hotels, top of the range shopping, and a host of cafes, restaurants and bars? What about a place that had it all?

Come to La Jolla there are stunning views, beautiful coves and beaches and La Jolla Homes are second to none. If you're looking for that special place, with all the natural beauty and city life that you could wish for then La Jolla is the place for you.

New Jersey is the Place to Be

New Jersey is the place for those with expertise in making people look good and feel better about themselves.

These days New Jersey can stand alongside Beverley Hills when it comes to catering for the needs of men and women who want to roll back the years and make the best of themselves.

You can have your own hair growing again if you are a man, and if you are a woman, you can have a nose job or a brow lift. You can have liposuction on the parts of your body that are no longer young and firm looking and you can reduce the look of your wrinkles and take years off your age with a face lift. New Jersey cosmetic surgeons are wowing women the wonders they can perform Cosmetic surgery is the new must have for women in America and increasingly for women across the globe.

Deep in the Heart of Texas

Whenever I hear the words, deep in the heart of Texas, I envision John Wayne, sat astride a horse with a herd of cattle in front of him. This further conjures up images of clouds of dust, a dearth of women, and a firm conviction that this land is a man's land.

Well, hold on to your stetsons boys some women are changing the whole notion of what deep in the heart of Texas is all about. They are sick and tired of its dark and dusty image. They are tired of it to such a point that it is affecting their view of themselves. Women want Texas to have a brand new image. They want it to be known as the face of America, the new face of America.

Numbers of Texan women have now been bitten by the image changing bug. For the women of Houston cosmetic surgery seems to be the answer. Women are having liposuction, botox and full facelifts at the best surgery in Houston in an attempt to change the face of their city.

New York: So Good they Faced it Twice

New York,it's the name of a city that conjures thoughts of all that is big, brash and beautiful in the world.

You've heard the old Sinartra number "New York, New York, So good they named it twice". Well it seems to me that there is an awful lot of double doing in New York today. Perhaps I shouldn't restrict this comment to New York. The world over women are growing tired of the faces they were born with. Sometimes they want to look prettier and sometimes they want to look younger. A lot of women in their sixties these days are having nips and tucks in many different parts of their bodies.

Just as there's an awful lot of coffee in Brazil, so there is an awful lot of Cosmetic Surgery in New York City. Everyone wants another face. Sinartra didn't know how that song affected things in the Big Apple. New York, New York, so good they faced it twice.

New Age and the Celtic Tradition

Over the last thirty years or so there has been a renewed interest in the beliefs of the ancient world. In the 1970s young people were disechanted with the religion of their parents' generation and turned to the religions of the East, to Buddhism and Hinduism.

With the growth of the feminist movement there was also a renewed interest in the old fertility religions such as the Goddess movement and the Wicca movement. Numbers of women joined these fertility cults as a reaction to what they saw as the oppressive nature of partriarchal religion.

In more conventional terms there has also been a return to some of the ancient traditions of certain forms of Christianity. There has been a particular interest in the Christianity of the Celts. This is evident not just in changing belief structures but in modes of dress and personal decoration. In most jeweller's windows you can see Celtic style earrings and brooches. Some followers of the tradition go even further as a result of interest in Celtic Tattoos an increasing number of people have tattoos of the Celtic Cross or of the Sun on their arms. Sometimes this is the result of a firm belief in that tradition and sometimes it is done because a person likes the designs. Either way there is a renewal of interest in these areas.

Maybe it's Time

As I get older I find that I am getting wider around the middle. More to the point I am finding it harder and harder to motivate myself to take on anything new. In fact there are days when my motivation has been so low that I have thought of obtaining outside help. Then a friend made some suggestions.

She said that I didn't have just one problem but a number of problems in my life and really there were whole areas that needed sorting out. She suggested I contact San Diego Personal Training I have to say that I gulped a bit. I'd never really considered myself so disorganised and lacking in motivation that I needed the help of someone else to sort out my life.

My friend said it was worth giving it a try. She had felt similarly unmotivated, and sort of stale a couple of years ago and then someone suggested a personal trainer. She said it had really helped her. So I gave in. On Monday I am going to try and turn my life around with the help of my new personal trainer. Wish me luck.

Time and Size

Roc skincare, I'm finding, is pretty good. I've reached the age where anti-ageing creams and articles turn me on. A sad case you might say, but age overtakes us all and a little bit of help doesn't hurt. I'm not going to tell you that Roc can make you look young overnight but it certainly makes your skin brighter and fresher. In fact I wish they made Roc for writing. Being able to reach for a tube of cream, squeeze it onto your words and watch them come up fresher seems like a pretty cool idea to me. Until they do this though I'll just use Roc in my daily routine and hope that sometime, somewhere, the anti-ageing process will begin.

I hear you laughing but it's only a cream you know, it's not as though I live in California where for women living in Beverly Hills Breast Augmentation seems to be the norm. They are just not satisfied with what they have. The men they hang out with crave bigger breasted women and so these women go and have their breast enlarged with silicone. But if it keeps them happy who am I to complain. Still, think I'll stick with the skin cream.

Growing Old Disgracefully and Loving it.

I am growing old disgracefully. My kids say they can't keep up with me as in my sixth decade of life I have launched into a new career. Grace has never really been my forte even at a tender age I was always the one who lost her ribbons and had her socks round her ankles at the end of the day.

I refuse to go grey and will continue to colour my hair for as long as I can. I will not have facelifts, implants or any other kind of plants because I am not overly keen on pain. I do, however, know women of a similar age who attempt to stop the forces of gravity. It is not only your chin that drops as you get older. Women posses other body parts that have a tendency to spiral downwards as they get older. In recent weeks there has been some publicity given to the fact that more women in later life are giving nature a helping hand. Some of them do this by having breast lifts. I suppose it takes all sorts.

Although I might be growing old disgracefully I am not a frequenter of grab a granny nightclubs, nor would I wear a miniskirt, the room would empty if I did. Even ten years ago I had a good set of pins but in the last few years arthritis has taken its toll and lumpy legs are not on anyone's top ten list. I like Richard Gere and Robson Green, play some blues and I can still jig with the best of them. While I recognise teenagers' tendencies towards kevinhood I like them as people. Sometimes they have very sound philosophies.

I dislike almost all the current politicians on both sides of the pond. I have no objection to asylum seekers and would not shop an illegal immigrant, these lands are not our's they belong to God. I have no time for Pat Roberts and his ilk, fundamentalism whatever its guise these days is dangerous. I think stealth taxes are theft and seizing assets is as bad as bullion robbery.

Drugs should be legalised but the politicians won't do that because it will affect their rake offs. Alcohol is more noxious than cannabis although smoking weed tends to make me paranoid so I no longer bother. I like a good book, a hot bath, and a bed with my husband in it. I love candy floss and jelly babies, always bite the heads off first. I love my kids, my grandkids, and my dog, I love my friends and especially value all the new ones I've made online.

Finally, I think blogging is ggggreat it has led me on to paid freelance writing work, sitting up til four in the morning reading other blogs and commenting and having a laugh. My husband and kids think I've lost it big time. Thus I am growing old disgracefully and loving it.

The Paranoid Ramblings of a Good Ol' Boy

Infamy, infamy.
They've all got it in for me.
The papers don't like me
The tv agrees.
They call me an asshole,
Me!
The bee's knees.

They don't want me reading their emails,
Why not?
Because they're involved in a terrorist plot
To make me an object of everyone's hate.
While they make arrangements to blow up the state.

You may think I'm schizoid,
Or that I smoke weed.
This terrible slander
Should not be believed.
I'll curb all their freedoms,
I'll take them away.
For I am the King
of the U S of A.

The Quest for Beauty

Nowadays some women and men seem to be continually concerned with how they look. They are on a constant quest for beauty.Plenty of young and beautiful Hollywood actresses, who on the surface have it all, are regularly reported as having said that they are not content with the way they look.

This is particularly the case for those women who have recently given birth. They are not happy with their looks because pregnancy has changed the shape of their body, as it does with most women. So for many of those who are able to afford it plastic surgery seems to be the answer to their problems. One look in the plastic surgery directory and they can choose from breast implants, liposuction, face, eye and brow lifts, the list goes on.
Whether they will be happy once such surgery is complete remains to be seen. Many women, once they have gone under the knife in this way, seem to feel a need to have further work done. The quest for beauty may be a permanent feature of our modern world.

Nose Trouble

There is nothing worse than having problems with your nose. After all we need our noses to breathe don't we. Most of us know how it feels to have a streaming cold, where your nose is either running fit to run itself out, or is bunged up so badly it makes your head ache.

Normal everyday nose problems, either as a result of a cold, sinusitus or hayfever can be really uncomfortable. The good news is that these conditions are not permanent. We only have to sit it out and eventually the nose problem will go away and we are back to normal.

What happens though when we have something wrong with our nose that we know is permanent. Some people are unlucky enough to have really serious nasal blockages, and these are not likely to go away in a hurry. Other people may have problems with the look of their nose, they may have been in an accident or they just can't stand the nose they were born with. Some of these people may consider surgery.

If you've got money to spare, and you are in California then you might decide to go to Beverly Hills. In Beverly Hills rhinoplasty is becoming extremely popular for people with more permanent nasal problems. People can have cartilege removed and their nose reshaped if they have a nasal blockage. The results are permanent so there is no more nose misery. It can take up to three months to recover but it's worth it to be able to breathe. Other nose problems are dealt with in much the same way and an increasing number of people are having their noses restructured to improve their looks

California seems to have this effect on some people, maybe it's because a lot of rich folks live in California. The rise in the number of people seeking reconstructive nose surgery is not restricted to Beverly Hills. People also go for Rhinoplasty in Los Angeles. Doctor Andrew Frankl in Los Angeles says that rhinoplasty is one of the most difficult plastic surgery procedures and patients sometimes need secondary surgery. So unless your nose trouble is really serious maybe you should reconsider before going under the knife.

Wibble Wobble Jelly on a Plate

Do you remember that silly rhyme, wibble wobble, wibble wobble jelly on a plate. I have to say that I was reminded of this recently. There we were sat on the beach minding our own business and then we were inundated with jelly babies. Jelly beach babies that is.

Now don't confuse jelly beach babies with gorgeous beach babes, nothing could be further from the truth. Jelly beach babies are those men and women of a certain age and stature. Life has caught them up. One day they're coasting along in the slow lane, firm and lovely. Next thing life is rushing along and things begin to slip a little. Their skin is no longer so firm. It folds and wrinkles at will and no amount of dieting is going to eliminate that jelly baby look.

Dr Amron can help all you jelly babies out there, and he can do it without a general anesthetic this is why so many women and men are electing to have liposuction in Los Angeles. Dr Amron is famous for his liposuction, he is careful about delivering fantastic results for his patients.

End that jelly baby on the beach syndrome and if you're in Los Angeles look up Dr Amron. He can stop that wibble wobble and give you the look of youth.

California Here I Come

On rainy days like today I wonder if you, like me, can think of nothing better than a place in the sun. Don't get me wrong, I love living in Britain but there are times when the weather leaves a lot to be desired.

Now I know that it is pointless complaining about the weather, it's not as if I have any control over it. The weather just is. But when it's raining and I look out of the window and see the garden that we have worked hard to create I can't help thinking that what I'd really like to be doing is sitting outside on the lawn.
If the sun was shining, then believe me that is where I'd be. There or on a beach somewhere.

Now that really has got me dreaming I'd just love to be in a hot and sunny climate. So sometimes, just to appease this desire a little, I look around at other places. So the other day I happened on some information about California and happened to note that there were San Diego Homes for Sale. Think of it, living where the rich and famous have their watering holes. A brand new condo would suit me down to the ground. Makes me think of the old Al Jolson song "California Here I Come.

Learning About SEO's

When I first heard the term SEO I had no idea what people were talking about. It's only been in the last couple of weeks that I have come to recognise that the term means search engine optimisation. What's that? I know that was my response to Sharonand gracepub.

Suejeffhad no idea what this was. Search engine optimisation crudely put, means making the most of what the search engines can do for you in terms of traffic to your blog. One of the things that bloggers need to do is to find out more about the best keywords to use. Then Havenposted an item about key words and recommended this site You just install some text into your template and this will give you ideas to write about by suggesting keywords, we shall see how this progresses.

Keeping Up Your Stock

It seems to be in the nature of human beings to want to keep up and increase our stock in every area of our lives. We have stock in relationships, in work and often in our homes and invest a lot of who we are in these things.

Keeping up your stock is an important concept, particularly in today's climate. We feel a need to see an increase in value in every area of our lives. We are constantly bombarded with media messages about saving our money and seeing the interest mount up. But are Government Bonds or simple saving accounts really the way to keep up our financial stock? We always have options when it comes to increasing the value of things that matter to us. When it comes to our money it certainly helps if we have some idea of the stock options that are open to us.

If we want to increase our financial profits then a good way of doing this is by purchasing shares in companies that pay high dividends. Some never pay dividends, but use investors money for research, or to buy further assetts. One of the best way of discovering how to increase your stock is to take a look at PowerOptions, they'll give you the info you need to deal with your money wisely.

With the financial side of things dealt with, all you need to do is to look at the other areas of your life and find out how to preserve your investments in those areas.

DNA Testing

In Britain at the moment the subject of DNA has received a lot of media attention. DNA is regarded as irrefutable evidence that a person was at the scene of a crime. With rape and other violent crimes on the increase Government and media debates have centered around the idea of DNA testing at birth.

Human rights groups, obviously, are up in arms. What will the authorities think of next. In a television poll this morning many people in England thought that DNA testing at birth was a good idea. Even though the majority of the British public may appear to be in agreement with this idea, have they really thought it through? What would happen, for example, if someone was trying to evade detection and placed somebody else's DNA at the scene? That would be regarded as irrefutable proof that you were there. Even eye witnesses who testified to the fact that you were somewhere else would have less credibility than the fact that your DNA was at the scene.

What do you think? Should the state have the powers to take DNA samples at birth? Or is this a fundamental abuse of our human rights?

All That Glitters

When you walk into a bank and see piles of dollars neatly packaged, just waiting for you to sign and take them home it probably makes you feel rich. You've had a big check because you've won some money in a competition. Now you want to take it home and spend it. But is it really worth as much as you think it is? Those crisp new dollars might make your eyes sparkle but they don't glitter like the real thing, like gold or silver.

The price of everything has skyrocketed but is it really because commodities have risen in price, or is it because the dollar has sunk in value? Because your paper money has been devalued it takes more and more to buy less. Have you thought about investing your money in the real glittery stuff? If you have then you might decide to buy gold bars. Today's political and economic climate is uncertain which is why more investors are putting their money into tangible assets such as silver and gold bars. So if your dollar has lost its shine then consider buying something that really glitters, consider gold.

Home Sweet Home

Most people would agree with the sentiment that home is the best place to be. Home sweet home is an old fashioned but still common saying. When you've had a hard day at work, or you're feeling tired or sad, then many of our thoughts turn towards home.

Even when you've had a really good holiday, by the time you've travelled and walked through the door, most people's reaction is , aah, home. Home means different things to different people and there are all kinds of homes. From bedsits to mansions, these places are home to someone.

Nowadays many more people are either buying their own home, or own it outright. It is something to leave the children and it provides a person with solid assets. If they run into trouble with money or credit cards then they can always raise some finance. Increasingly people have multiple debts and there are more companies out there offering debt consolidation.

Debt consolidation means lumping all your debts together so that you have a single monthly payment that is often lower than what you were paying previously. This may involve taking out a second mortgage or a home equity loan. However, you really do need to do your homework, shop around and know what you are doing. If you can't make your payments on time then your home could be forfeit, you could also find, in the long run, thay you're paying back more. So before you get involved in debt consolidation make sure you know what you can afford or your sweet home could be lost to someone else.

Sunny Summer Days

Britain is in the grip of a heatwave. We're really not used to more than a couple of consecutive days of heat and sunshine. It's often cold and rainy so we're not big on air conditioning over here. So what do you do when the weather takes over?

On cold and rainy days you can go for a drive. With the windows closed and the heating on a car is quite a cosy place to be. On hot, sunny weekends, when you've had enough of the garden and yearn for places new you can take off in your car. With the windows open and the sunroof back it's a cool place to be. You're at peace with the world and ready for anything especially someone who offers you a cheap car insurance quote. You're in a good mood and ready to listen, particularly when it's a well known name like Norwich Union.

Think about it, a short-term car insurance that covers all your needs, comprehensive car insurance for 28 days, even if the car you are driving is not your own. I say bring on the hot summer days and cheap car insurance.

Pickup Trucks

When it comes to moving your goods from where they are stored to your place of business, you want the most efficient way of getting your belongings safely from a to b. You don't expect to have to move your stuff on a wheelbarrow or in the family car (could be a real problem). What about a pickup truck.

More and more people are using pickup trucks to transport their belongings. Their only drawback is that if it rains your goods will get wet. You want to prevent this but are not quite sure what to use. What you need is a truck tonneau cover.

You can buy all kinds of accessories for your truck on line. You just need to state what you need along with your vehicle make, year and model and the suppliers will do the rest. Giving you a choice only of the accessories that are suitable for your vehicle. They will then ship them to you, it is that easy. Your new tonneau cover is just a click away.

Women and Youth

We all want to remain young. Youth is something that many women want to recapture. This is particularly the case for women who may have stayed at home with their children and given up any claim to a career.

Women, far more than men, spend a lot of time worrying about their appearance. You only have to look at the huge number of women's magazines on any newstand. The content of these magazines more often than not revolves around the cult of celebrity, and the preferred celebrities are youthful and attractive.

Women's magazines follow through on this attraction to youth with various articles and features on how women can look and feel younger. In recent months there has been an increased interest in cosmetic surgery and this is catered for in women's magazines.

Women not only want to look their best they want to reclaim their youth by losing the sags and wrinkles of increasing age. Occasionally this surgery does not turn out as expected and women will go somewhere else to have it improved.

Take a nose job, for example. Suppose a woman doesn't just want to lose her wrinkles, she wants to change the shape of her face. So she has her nose remodelled but is not happy with the result. Then she may want it redone. This fad for changing one's looks varies from one area to another. There is a high demand for cosmetic surgery in Beverly Hills. Women in Beverly Hills who may not be happy with previous surgery may decide to opt
for what is known as rhinoplasty, for revisional surgery.

Dr Paul S. Nassif is a specialist in revisional rhinoplasty. Patients can take advantage of his use of cutting edge techniques to alleviate the misery of faulty surgery. Now, more than ever women's search for eternal youth and beauty are grabbing the headlines.

A Woman's Friends

The post on
gratitude got me thinking about how much we need friends. Here's my list:

My husband because he loves me even when I'm sat in my pyjamas having the grumps with the computer because I can't think straight.

My 25 year old son who makes a point of telling me he loves me when I'm sad or mad.

My daughters who tell me what not to wear and never comment on the size of my rear.

My dog who won't come for a stroke when I'm going out of the door and jumps all over me when I come back in.

Books, my laptop (when things are going well) and a glass of wine.

Friends are there through the good times and make the bad times easier to pass through.

This is not the wine talking, yet.

These are the type of friends that you don't want to be parted from. They are just the friends you'd want to take along with you on a trip to your new Orlando Rental Home. Become part of a thriving Florida community with seven major theme parks, something which helps to make it the number one tourist destination in the world. There is something for everyone at Orlando.

Blogging Blues

Yesterday and most of today I have had the low-down, beat-up, blacked out, blogging blues. I have discovered that writing and blogging are not quite the same. There are all kinds of things that as a writer you never need worry about. When it comes to blogging however that is not the case. Blogging involves keeping up your information levels by surfing the net. It means that people start worrying about how many hits they get on their blogs, but the daddy at the root of blogging blues for me had been html and clickable links.

I finally cracked the clickable links aspect today,
see it gives some insight as to the reason for the blogging blues. So...if you've only just started in the blogosphere and are having trouble with technical aspects, you can learn it. Don't let those low-down, beat-up, blacked out, blogging blues get you down

Football the Beautiful Game? And How About Olymic Swimming?

Football is often referred to as the beautiful game in Britain. When the England team lost yesterday, and had to return home, there were miserable faces across the country. Football is now a multi-million pound industry, with a huge body of fans, yet for all that some of the spirit that used to be associated with football seems to have been lost. The behaviour on the field of certain players certainly causes one to wonder what happened to the beautiful game. Check out this

It's not always the fans or the competitors that are the problem, sometimes it's the organisers of a game or other sport, olympic swimming for instance. Take the case of world class paralympic swimmer Nancy Burpee. She set world records in trials held at Minneapolis,Minnesota but was disqualified by an Australian referree on a procedural technicality in her attempt to participate in the 2004 paralympic games held in Athens, Greece. So she contacted Kevin Simmons a partner at Simons Janace & Staggto act for her against the United States Olympic committee. The firm took the case pro-bono and although Ms Burpee failed in her action she continues her swimming career.

Write for Women

I was up late last night with a glass of wine, tapping away at my computer. I had signed on to a site that wanted editors so I thought in my alcohol induced haze why not give it a go. It's not a money making site. You write for free as a service to other women. I don't know if they accepted and it involved thinking up 15 different article titles with a some idea of the content-not full articles but it took me quite a time. Then they get back to you in a week or two.

One of the things I was going to write about was anti-ageing creams, but there is a lot of that in the magazines. Then I thought about the number of women who were unhappy with their looks, not simply because they wanted to look younger, but because they'd been born with a feature they couldn't stand, or had an accident. Increasingly women who have problem features are having surgery. For example women are having rhinoplasty in Los Angeles.Rhinoplasty is a form of corrective surgery for noses. If you've been in an accident and broken your nose then you may need this type of surgery. There are also women who, for different reasons, would like a different nose from the one they were born with, and they too have rhinoplasty.

So, you see the sort of things that have been floating round my mind. As for the job, if I get it I'll feel like I'm doing my bit, and I'll be able to tell that to the dog who snorts a bit when he's kept up late. He could have gone to sleep but seems to feel it's his duty to sit up with me (and you thought men were a problem).

At Least I'm Writing

Sat at my laptop
A fag close to hand.
Over hear that's for smoking-the pun wasn't planned.

I like writing drivel, especially in verse
As I become older
I find that it's fun
Which may be perverse, but you can always shun
my rantings and ravings if you're so disposed
At least I am writing,
Not picking my nose

Super Glue and Olive Pitts-Or Not a Poem Exactly

I really wouldn't know what to do
With olive pitts and superglue-
Can't even remember if pitts have two ts
Or if super glue's super
For making me wheeze.

The only thing I would make is a mess
You might as well ask me to play world class chess.
I do have the cheek to post on this page the driveling doggerel of ad-vancing age.

Woman's World

It seems to me that whenever I sit down to write somebody, somewhere, wants something. If the phone rings I'm supposed to pick it up. Writing, whether it's having a moan, working on a story, or the latest chapter of your novel (I wish, haven't touched it in aeons) or finishing off a research report, is not seen as "important" to those around you. That goes double if you are of the female persuasion.

As one of this persuasion I live in a woman's world which means that any writing time I may be able to pinch is seen to be invadeable. Grown up kids want to come by and chat, my husband wants me to listen to something of the utmost importance and the dog wants his stomach rubbed.

Life can get a bit tough if you are a woman. However, there are things that don't often concern us as women, things that we avoid simply because of our sex. One of those things is hair loss. You know, you often see bald or balding men but rarely do you see a balding woman. A friend of mine, whose husband was losing his hair, and feeling quite bad about it, said that she had found this great place called New Jersey Hair Restoration where a Dr Pistone has a new technique which enables him to give a balding man his own hair and hairline again. Pretty cool I thought, as did my friend, she is hoping that it really will give her husband's flagging confidence a boost. At least there are some things that don't occur that often in a woman's world.
